Meg Ryan has described working on her new film The Women as “truly, truly fun”.

The actress joined a star-studded female cast for the movie, including Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith and Bette Midler.

At the LA premiere last night, Meg said the actresses had a blast during filming – particularly during Debra Messing’s labour scene.

“Any day we were all together. We all loved Debra giving birth. She’d do something and we would all run to the monitor to see her veins pop out of her temple.”

She added: “It was truly truly fun. These are smart articulate, opinionated, silly women. And it was great to sit in our make up trailer or director’s chair and talk to one another about anything.”

The film, directed by Diane English, focuses on Meg’s character’s battle with her cheating husband’s mistress – and the support she receives from her female friends.

“I like the story. It’s a movie about what happens when girlfriends break up, and I think a lot of women have had bumps in their friendships that are very significant in their lives.

“I think Diane was interested in saying that, to women, your peers are important to you.”

Talk about an ensemble cast! Last night Meg Ryan, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Eva Mendes, and Debra Messing were all on hand to celebrate the big Los Angeles premiere of their new film “The Women.”

It was a star-studded event at the Mann Village Theatre and all of the ladies on hand were dressed to the nines, each having their own distinct style.

Meg Ryan kept things simple-yet-sexy in a sleeveless navy blue floor-length dress, while Eva Mendes spiced things up a bit with her 1940s-style black-and-white leaf print ensemble.

Always classy, Jada Pinkett-Smith rocked a strapless graphite-colored beaded gown (which looked great along with her arm candy, husband Will Smith), and Debra Messing got fancy with a silver and black puffed-out dress.

And for those of you who weren’t fortunate enough to garner an invitation to the big premiere, “The Women” hits theatres nationwide next Friday, September 12th.

Debra showed her love for shoes Beverly Hills Saks Fifth Avenue yesterday to promote “The Women”. I have added 23 pictures and tomorrow I will hunt for more.
