Debra Messing was doomed to be known only as Grace until Brian Grazer’s newly exed wife, Gigi Levangie Grazer, made her the star of the television adaptaion of The Starter Wife. Now, Levangie Grazer has a new book out called Queen Takes King. You can read a really bitchy review of the book in the June issue of Los Angeles magazine by Tom Carson, in which Levangie Grazer is referred to as GLG. An accomplished novelist, screenwriter (Stepmom) and television scribe, GLG is most famous for her novel turned Lifetime series, The Starter Wife, about a first wife who is dumped by her Brian Grazer-like husband. The book is great beach read. The television series viewable for free on Hulu.com, is video candy.

Maneater, and Rescue Me are also quick, fun reads that prove GLG to be not just a Hollywood (now single) mom, but a Candace Bushnell-Sarah Jessica Parker-Carrie Bradshaw morph of the left coast.

Queen Takes King is her first novel where GLG veers to the right coast and spins her tale of men and women in New York. Tom Wolfe, she ain’t. But Jacqueline Susanne? On antidepressants, perhaps.
